The entrance to the park area, the National Palace, now a museum.
(Taken through the coach's window, hence the green tint.)
View of the city from the top of the Mount.
Next stop was at the Barcelona Cathedral but because of the rain, no photos to show. Our tour ended with lunch at a Chinese restaurant. After lunch it was free time. I spent my time looking at some of the Modernista buildings while my wife enjoyed her shopping in the main shopping street nearby.
Top of the list is Casa Mila (or La Pedrera, the Stone Quarry), another of Gaudi's famous creation.
Close-up of one of the chimneys.
Casa Lleo Moera
Casa something???
Casa Batllo - frontage, windows and balcony.
There are plenty of beautiful buildings along the streets of Barcelona, just one example at a street corner.
The ladies would not be bothered by these buildings but only what's inside such as Mango and Zara below.
Just a tip for ladies out there (sorry to the gentlemen) who wants to shop in Barcelona or Spain in general. Among the popular Spanish branded clothing, the cheapest is Zara, especially the sale items when compared to local prices here. That's what my wife told me, so it must be correct!
The leading departmental store here is El Corte Ingles and you can find branches all over town. Good for window shopping and you daily needs in the supermarket.
